Problems are part of life. All people experience problems, struggles and adversities. There are cases when issues arise unexpectedly and cause us to be concerned, depressed, or disoriented.

However, the Bible teaches us to remain composed and have faith in God. I have learned in this subject that my reaction to anger or fear will not address anything. Rather, calmness is peaceful and is wise.

The Bible affirms the fact that in Proverbs 16:32, it states that it is better to be a patient person than a warrior, who has self-control than one who captures a city.

This verse demonstrates that calmness is a virtue and not a vice. I have learned how to stop, take breath, and reflect when encountering problems before I say or do anything. I also have been taught that when I am calm, I make better decisions.

Another scripture that has a greater force is Philippians 4: 6, which states, do not worry about anything, but in all situations, through praying and supplication with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. This reminds me to pray rather than have a panic. I feel lighter when I discuss my issues with God. I cannot see the solution at the moment, but I have a peace within.

Another thing that occurred to me after reading the topic was that God is always in control. The prophecy is stated in Isaiah 41:10 which says, Do not fear, I am with thee, do not be dismayed, I am thy God. The awareness that God is my side gives me confidence. I am not the only one even when it is tough.

I have learnt that being calm is a decision. This is not simple yet it can be done with the aid of God. My desire is to be able to react to problems with faith and not fear. I would like to speak softly, act prudently, and have faith in God.

Finally, the ability to work with issues calmly is a spiritual maturity indicator. This has been a subject that has been close to my heart. I am also learning to be patient, praying, and peaceful. I think with the word of God, I will be able to confront any issue with calmness and confidence.

God bless his word
Amen
