Just finished seeing a movie and from there, I was able to deduce some points about our education system especially here in Nigeria and in our various universities to be precise. Many of our teachers and lectures are not suppose to be given the teaching job not to even talk of getting a good pay. The sincere truth is that we undergraduates are not taught in real sense the best way we should. Many of our lectures just come to class, blab on a few thing we have never heard nor even read before and just tell us to either get their manual or go and read it anyhow ourselves without a detail explanation nor even tips of things to read and when exam comes and a student fails to give the right answer to the question, they blame it on the student not being hardworking and good enough. I wish most of our lecturers didn’t get the teaching Job when they were desperately in need of one because, they don’t deserve it. Most are only money makers and I call them stupid and unserious irrespective of the post or qualifications they have. As teachers, what is expected of them is to impact what they have and know into the life of their students but they won’t do that. They will rather tell students to get some amounts for them for the student to have his or her way in the course of the exam which is critically bad. Some will even, intentional fail students by giving them poor grades like D, E or F. Really feeling bad. I just wish something could be done about this for a better educational system. Those who needs to be wiped off, should be and those that deserve the post should be there instead. I am seriously, praying for the sacking of some lectures for peace to reign and for things to be in order. Hoping to see a better result soon.
