# I taught myself to tat with a shuttle this evening!

Tatting is a form of lace making.

I already know the basics of needle tatting,

but Mom wants to learn how to use her granny's shuttle.

This means I needed to figure it out.

# This is one of the needlearts I have wanted to learn for a long time, but for some reason it just now clicked for me.

# Tatting is nothing more than a base thread used to hold hand manipulated knots. # At one time this was a widely used handcraft to make thing from doylies to wedding dresses. # Today it is rarely used form of lace making due to the time it takes to produce even a small product. # it is so much easier to order something made by a machine.
