A Memorable Family Day at McDonald’s – All for the Kids

To be honest, I am not a big fan of McDonald's or KFC and I have already mentioned this in my previous posts. It’s not because I don’t like the food, but simply because I find it expensive. If they offered the same meals at half the price, it would be fine. In fact, I would prefer a good local burger instead, they are usually bigger, more filling, and loaded with sauces, all at a much lower price.

But of course, everyone has their own preferences, and I know many people here are big fans of McDonald's and KFC, so they might not agree with me.

Now, coming back to the main story, despite not being a fan, our whole family went to McDonald's on 9th March, and the reason was our Mother. Yes, she wanted to go because the kids' meal comes with a toy, which she knew would make our children happy and seeing them happy makes parents happy too. She thought it would be a new and fun experience for the kids to get a toy with their meal.

I searched a lot to find another place that gives a toy with a kids’ meal so we could skip McDonald’s, but I could not find any. So in the end, I had to go ahead with the plan because when it comes to fulfilling our mother’s wish, I try my best.

Then I thought about saving some money through discounts or offers. Luckily, I found out that I had 8,000 smile points on my credit card, which could give me Rs. 2,000 off at McDonald’s. That felt like a little win. Of course, I knew the total bill would still be high but that’s where my father came in to support. ;)

That day, we first visited my aunt, who wasn’t feeling well after a recent surgery. After that, on our way back, we all went to McDonald’s. We had planned this two days earlier because I like to follow a proper plan a habit taught by my parents (though plans don’t always go as expected, hahaha).

The McDonald’s staff was very friendly and helpful. In other countries, it’s usually self-service, but in Pakistan, the culture is different, and the staff often serves you at your table.

When we arrived, the place was full. We had to wait a little for seats to be available, it felt like playing musical chairs whoever moves fast gets the seat.

I ordered 4 kids’ meals and 2 family deals. Even after using my card points, the bill was still around Rs. 4,000+. But honestly, that didn’t matter when I saw my Mother’s happy face, she was so glad to see the kids enjoying their meals and toys.

As for me, I finished my burger in a minute. It was so small, I felt like I hadn’t eaten anything. I told myself I would eat some noodles or something later at home. But everyone else enjoyed the food and had a great time chatting. The kids were really excited.

We didn’t open the toys at McDonald’s, just kept them with the kids while they ate. Later at home, we opened them. The toy this time was a Sonic character, and all four kids got the same one. Honestly, the toys are really nice. Sometimes I feel McDonald’s should just open a toy shop instead of a burger chain hehehehe.

In the end, the real fun is spending time with family. No matter the place, when you're all together, the outing becomes special. This was one of those days, full of joy and good memories.
