Komodo dragons or Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis), is the world's largest reptile species found on the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Gili Dasami in Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Komodo dragons were first discovered by western researchers in 1910.
Komodo (Varanus komodoensis) is one of three national animals of Indonesia. Komodo as the nation's wildlife to accompany Javan Hawk eagle (rare animals) and red silver fish (fascinating animals). Komodo is also designated as the identity fauna of East Nusa Tenggara province.

Komodo dragons found only in some islands of Nusa Tenggara included in the Komodo National Park area are also appreciated internationally with the passage of being one of the 28 finalists of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

Komodo dragon macaques vary widely, including a variety of invertebrates, other reptiles (including smaller, smaller), birds and eggs, small mammals, monkeys, wild pigs, goats, deer, horses and buffalo. Young Komodo prey on insects, eggs, lizards, and small mammals.
