Improving my Foundation Gold Deck

Hive to HBD to a MAX Foundation card

The Hive Token is seeing some nice uptick. Making it a great time to toss a little on trades for other assets. Of course the Hive Token is still greatly undervalued so don't trade away what you want back. For me I already traded my Hive for HBD in an effort to leverage for more Hive. I'm not sure if that was wise as Hive seems to be very much attempting to break out. I'll be happy to see it do so. As I wait to see what the markets do I decided this would be a great time to use some of that HBD to MAX a Foundation card. Splinterlands makes it easy to trade our HBD (and other currencies) for credits. Simply log in and click the + icon next to the credits image on the homepage. When you do so a window will open. If you want to trade cryptocurrency for some credits click the icon that says crypto. If you want to use Paypal to purchase some credits click the Paypal icon. Once you make your choice follow the instructions on the page.

Above you will see the series of actions I took to attain enough Spellmonger Gold cards to have one at MAX. After I traded some HBD for Credits I traded those Credits for four Spellmonger gold foils. Each purchase was unique to itself. Meaning four different Splinterland players earned some DEC from the sale of these gold foils. Spellmonger is a Rare neutral unit. Which means it can be called upon by any Archon to battle within any faction as can any neutral unit. Archons are the most important to level. If your Archon isn't leveled having a bunch of maxed units won't do you much good in battle. This is because certain level Archons are needed to call upon certain level units. It's my opinion the next important cards to level are the neutral cards. With MAX Archons and MAX neutral units you can almost gntd some MAX cards in-play when the time comes to battle your foes. It cost me about $0.72 USD to MAX this card. That is such a good deal. In-fact it might be too good of a deal. I'm currently looking out my kitchen window every five minutes to see if the 5.0 is going to show up and arrest me for theft because it sure does feel like I just robbed the joint. Lets put this new card to the test while earning some daily rewards provided to us in Ranked play.

BOOM: Just like that. Winning Foundation ranked battles has never been so easy. That new MAX card of mine already proved its worth with earning me three additional Foundation cards and two raffle entries to boot. One rare/ one common gold foil and one regular foil were the three cards. That's one more Gold to the collection (can never have too much gold). Prologue 3 has now been introduced to Campaign mode. I encourage anyone who is reading this to go play Campaign mode if you haven't already. If you have I encourage you to go complete Prologue 3 (just takes 2 minutes to do so). Once completed you'll get a cool new background for your profile picture. I won't post it here as I don't want to spoil the surprise for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. In-short Prologue 3 will help familiarize you with your Splinterlands profile image. Age/ hair/ background changes/ it all can be done and Prologue 3 will show you how. I put some glasses on mine and changed the background image. Make your profile unique to you.

Lore:

Lore taken from: https://splinterlands.com/register?ref=rentmoney

The Dragonsguard is the military arm of the Gloridax Empire, responsible for the law, order, and protection of its lands. Service is considered a great honor and elevates a family’s hierarchical status within the empire.

Most who join the Dragonsguard as ronach train for the sword, the bow, or the saddle. But others train in the arcane. Among them are spellmongers, specialists in retaliatory wards and punishment magic that turns aggression back on the attacker. They often serve as arcane adjuncts and protective wardcasters for Dragonsguard commanders.

Foes of the spellmonger usually learn too late; the spell that kills them was cast long before they attacked.

Other/ Poker Update:

I fumbled my recent $101 cash. I took it to a ring table and was killing it for awhile. I woke up with AA and get raised to $2+. I re-raise to $7, the opponent folds. The very next hand I'm dealt AA again. Same player raises $2+ again. I repeat and re-raise to $7. They over shove for $60+ USD. I have AA and snap call. They have KK and suck out on me. The flop comes with a king on it. Turn and river was no good to me and I go busto. I'm not sure if I tilted after that or not but I punted the rest away. Meaning we are back to $0. I do have a couple satellites to play in the upcoming days. I also played most of today placing in 3 back to back tournaments to be in a final $109 satellite only to be the first one to bust. I'll take a break tomorrow from any long term play as to get ready for Saturday's satellites I'm in. I have three to play. With any luck I'll win a ticket to at least one real money game being played on Sunday. I also plan on switching my strategy from hard and fast to sticking to tournament play until I build enough of a bankroll to sustain bad beats like AA losing to KK.
