Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan (Tokyo, Osaka and Hokkaido), Maldives, Indonesia (Bali and Yogyakarta), I was going through my past travels to see which would be the next interesting country or city to share, and I finally shortlisted New York, USA!
As you would have known from my past posts, my first trip to USA was a work trip to New York. Because I only had two days for sightseeing, I wrote about how I had to speed run through some of the major attractions in New York. You can read all about them here:
Several years later, I actually managed to visit USA again, and this time, it was for a holiday to the West Coast of USA and because the trip spanned across two weeks, there's definitely lots to unpack and share so sit back, and enjoy the sharings! You can read the earlier posts over here:

We left the awesome Venice Beach from the earlier post and strolled our way down Santa Monica Pier, which was another famous attraction in the area. On the way, we continue to see beach front shops and restaurants selling everything from pizza to ice cream along the way.

Finally, we managed to see the amusement park at Santa Monica Pier in the distance! Look at the ferris wheel and the white tents!

It was a long way and was slightly tiring because there was really not much shelter at the beach and it was bright and sunny all the way. But we were reaching our destination!

Close enough!

Took a look at how far we have come! Compared to Venice Beach, there's more people doing leisure activities nearing Santa Monica Pier.

And we reached! Santa Monica Pier!

Lots of stuff to do here and it was really crowded! Water activites, food, rides, you name it, they have got it all here.

Pacific Park is the amusement park here I think, and it was all open air so we could walk around freely.

At the other side of the pier, the beach continued and here we could see a lot of people, largely locals I believe, just chilling at the beach.

We walked further out on the extended platform at the pier and here's another snapshot!

As we got further and further out, we could see the strong waves from the ocean too.

Ending the post with another final view of the Santa Monica Pier and the amusement park, which extended all the way out into the ocean. It's amazing how they built these stuff, where they still had ferris wheel and rollercoaster on top of the ocean. All in all, it was a great visit because it's always great to see people having fun, shouting and screaming at the rides. We ended the evening by doing some light shopping in the area before heading back to the city.
