Ok so after alot of people pushing me around to make a Steemit account here i am.
I am Reapz and i have been involved in investigating and bringing awareness about child online safety for about a year now.
So what got me here?
I have a daughter and i wanted to buy her a tablet so what you do as a good parent you take a look at how safely it could be used with internet connection.
That's when the shit kind of hit the fan for me i went on YouTube and watched over some of her favorite cartoons at that time it was Paw Patrol and within no time i tripped into a rabbithole called #Elsagate.
It didn't take me very long to realize unsupervised internet is a very bad idea so the wifi is never on when unsupervised.
That did get me interested in this topic alot and during my personal investigations i found out about this channel called Investigating YouTube and their Elsagate video's and i got connected with some of their senior members.
They weren't making any more video's about Elsagate but found way worse stuff and we got along very nicely so i decided to join up in their effort to spread awareness about this topic and the rest is pretty much history.
It has been i think half a year now being a part of Exposing Exploitation and i met alot of great people with the same mission.
Up till this day i have been very active on the inside of things doing our investigations and spreading awareness with quite a few successes i might write about those at some point.
I am not a great writer i believe but i hope i can add something to this community and hopefully educate some people about this sadly still taboo topic.
Children deserve to grow up without having to think of the dangers of the cold dark outside world.
That's where we the parents step in.
Educating ourselves and educating others.
Safety through awareness.
