Flesh fly

By @reachdreams3/8/2026hive-130906

On a fresh green leaf still damp with morning dew, a flesh fly was enjoying the dewdrops. This was the first time I'd seen a fly enjoying morning dewdrops. Nature truly is a master at bringing me together with this creature I often encounter in a unique setting. My encounter with this fly was brief and simple. However, in this encounter, I felt as if I discovered something unique I'd rarely noticed before.

The fresh green leaf served as the perfect backdrop for this fly. Its colors were a striking contrast, a gray blended with jet black. Its entire body was covered with hairs that resembled thorns. Its large, maroon eyes were ready to survey the world. While photographing, I kept an eye on its antennae. They were tiny and constantly moving, making it look adorable.

Unfortunately, the cuteness didn't last long. After enjoying the dewdrops, the fly immediately left. I tried to find its whereabouts, but failed, I couldn't find it again. Perhaps it had flown away in search of another meal.
