Spinning Leaves (Original Poetry - Video Reading)

2025-03-30T18:11:00
I find that writing poetry can often be an act of meditation. This poem attempts to describe that wonderful unknowable feeling that comes with a successful meditation and expresses what meditation means to me.
I can't really describe it any better than the poem does, so I shall let the poetry do the talking 😉

Spinning Leaves

I see a bug on the tree I look at it, it looks at me. I watch it slowly amble on, and realise that nothing's wrong. I see a bug on the tree, realise I am it, and it is me.
I watch a robin on the bough, it feels it's here, I feel it's now. I watch it leap into the blue and feel what's real, feel what's true. I see a robin on the bough, realise I am it, it knows we're now.
I see a leaf twirling down, I watch it spin, to seed the ground. The leaf's winding in the wind, teaches me to accept the spin. I see a leaf twirling down, we spin together, without a sound.
