My first flight in Germany

This is my first trip to Germany. I have no idea how to travel to Germany or what flight to take because this is my first time flying to another country. Yes, I feel nervous, and my family is also worried that I might get lost during my flight. They are monitoring my flight board to check if the plane has already arrived in China.
December 13, 2024, has become one of the biggest days of my life because it marks both my flight and the release of my board exam results. While I was worrying about getting lost at the airport in China during my layover to Germany, I met a Filipina sitting beside me. Luckily, she was on the same flight to Frankfurt Airport.
Thanks to her, I didn’t get lost at the airport in China. She even helped me carry my bags, as I had a lot of luggage at that time. She also bought me a meal while we waited for the plane to board. We shared many stories, and I didn’t feel bored during my flight to Germany.
The reason I was carrying so much luggage is that I was traveling from the Philippines, a tropical country, to Germany, where the temperature upon my arrival was 0 degrees.
I enjoyed my flight because I had a window seat, which allowed me to admire the breathtaking views. However, during my second flight from China to Germany, I was seated in the middle, which wasn’t as comfortable. To make it worse, most of the in-flight movies were in Chinese, and I couldn’t understand a word of what they were saying.
The food on the plane was a mix of good and bad, as many people would agree. For me, it was just okay, but I struggled to communicate with the flight attendants because they didn’t speak English. Despite the language barrier, I was still grateful to have a meal and arrive safely.
One thing I found odd was how hot the plane was. Normally, planes are cool because of the air conditioning, but this one felt like it didn’t have any at all. I couldn’t help but wonder if it was because I had booked one of the cheapest flights to Germany. Regardless, I was just relieved to have made it through the journey in one piece!
I can’t wait to see my boyfriend again for the second time. We have been dating for 3 years and 9 months, and this will be our first winter together. We’ll finally celebrate Christmas, New Year, birthdays, and Valentine’s Day, which we missed while being in a long-distance relationship (LDR).
When I arrived at Frankfurt Airport, I felt a mix of emotions—excitement and nervousness. I thought my luggage was missing because most of the passengers from Guangzhou, China, had already received their luggage except for me. So, I waited a little longer just in case it would show up.
I called my boyfriend to tell him that my luggage still hadn’t arrived. Finally, I found it in another area.
I saw him standing there, taking a video of me while waiting patiently and smiling. I felt so excited to touch him again, but because of my shyness and the attention from others around us, I couldn’t bring myself to kiss or hug him, even though I longed to feel him in my arms. His breath was so close to my face, and those hands I hadn’t held for over a year were finally within reach.
This was our second time meeting, yet it felt like the first time all over again when I saw him at the airport. It reminded me of the same emotions I had while waiting for him at Manila Airport in the Philippines—only now, he was the one waiting for me at Frankfurt Airport. My heart felt so warm and full seeing him again.
