It is the end of my 2nd week of going beyond simply reading posts and comments here and there. Participating by contributing written content of my own has certainly deepened my appreciation for what goes in to making the Hive blockchain what it is.

While I said last week this is a diary blog of sorts, I know I cannot sustain writing these each week. For one thing, I doubt I have enough of interest to make it worthwhile for any potential readers of it.
That said, as I was about to just skip it this week, I got some encouraging news yesterday that prompted me to go ahead. Likely the next time I write one of these, though, will be at the end of my 1st month. Then, every month thereafter? 🤷♂️
Checking Boxes
As covered in more depth last week, this is part of my typical approach to just about everything in my life, in the real world.

After today, I am unlikely to show this illustration again, but wanted to highlight its value for new people. If choosing themselves to participate in contributing their content on the Hive blockchain, the detail found in all of the content on the
@newbies-guide account will be very helpful.
I highly recommend it!

How did I do on participating and contributing?

121 comments. 1 post per day, 14 days in a row. Interacting enough? Writing ... "quality content?" As I stated in my
introduction, I will leave that to others. What I am very clear about is that it does not matter what I think.
Having said that, of these comments, I have been awarded a
Top Comment award four times! I do not yet know how this works, but I appreciate the 3rd party notice and affirmation that I am putting some effort into creating my comments. 🤝
Highlights of the Week
A couple of them stand out:
- Successfully joined the One Bitcoin Club community, specifically being able to log in to their UI. With my background and contributing 2 different posts to help, it was encouraging to have it come together. I will be writing more about this.
- Starting here, with my comment on the first post I had read on this account, to writing the associated post here, I experienced the most meaningful interaction yet. If anything keeps me going over time, there is no doubt this will be an essential part of it.
It helps me combat the nagging doubts about whether or not I am wasting my time.
Especially when weighed against what I could be doing with this same investment of time elsewhere. One thing is for certain. The need for
balance is going to be very important to keep in focus.
And with that ...

QT is steadily climbing up the staircase. Taking it one step at a time.

An interesting part of the overall Hive experience is finding images which seem to illustrate the famous old quote, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Silly, maybe, but I have enjoyed that part more than I expected!

I'll close by noting my increasing appreciation for the various communities on the Hive blockchain. We can understand at least the general idea of concepts without ever experiencing them ourselves. But can we agree experiencing them firsthand deepens and expands our appreciation?
Yes, it is early days yet, but the Silver Bloggers community has impressed me with being perhaps something of a home base community. I do not know if that matches up with the way others might view it. I'm sure I will find out, in time.
All comments, "pro tips," etc. are welcome.
With that, off I go into a new week!
Best wishes, until we meet again,
QT
