Hello Everyone,
The past few days I've been working on a few different prints, two of which are still a work in progress and one of them is 50% complete.
It's exciting because I have some cool upcoming content to share with the community. The only thing that is tough sometimes is the fact that certain prints take a very long time to print, and certain errors occur that can slow things down.
Out of the two other projects I'm working on, one issue I'm having is something called slicing tolerance. It's a print in place moving parts design, and these are very tricky to print sometimes and require fine adjustments in the slicing software.
Anyway, let's check out this cool dinner plate I found on Thingiverse.

Everything went smooth with the make. As it was building, I could see a few areas that could be improved on my slicer with the top and bottom layers, but opted to let it finish anyway because as long as the top layer comes out nice, all of this is hidden.
The top layer came out nice indeed.

I feel like this would be a nice plate to put some dinner rolls on when I have some company over. Surely this plate would invoke some conversation!

Despite this print being super cool, it's not all sunshine and rainbows in some areas. I don't like how much support material was needed. What you see above is all waste material, and it is quite a bit. Enough to make quite a few small prints.
I will not be making more of these because of this, even though I would like some more of these plates.
I will probably try to find some different versions eventually, or create my own.

The bottom is pretty ugly to keep it real... I'm almost embarrassed to show this but... I believe in being transparent about all of the aspects here, the good with the bad...
I won't be quick to flip it over and show a guest, but it's not like it's a big deal really, and I still feel like it's a great conversation piece with a practical use!
I would not want to use this for any "wet foods".. Bread and other dry things will be its only use, because I don't want food gunk in the crevices and issues with cleaning and longevity of the plate.
