Following My Nose...

I had everything prepared for my afternoon! Found old photos from last year's summer road trip, uploaded them to the posts, sorted them according to the time they were taken, a story around photos was prepared in my head... The only thing that I had to do was to write a post... The idea was to leave home this afternoon for a long walk, far from home, to take a break, and use it to write and finish the post... but... the smell of blooming orange trees ruined it all... 😃 So, here we are, with a completely different #WednesdayWalk post!

I left home at 3 PM, drove for an hour, left the car with my wife, and took a walk... The plan was: 2 hours of walking, an hour of break, and an additional hour of walking after it, before going back to the car and driving an hour back home...
So, here I am, sitting in the coffee shop, that cake is already finished, the only thing left is coffee... sip after sip... 2-hour walk done, and you can see the "fruits" (no pun indeded) in front of you, and the rest will be done after writing these lines... Stay tuned for sea photos!! If I don't forget, I will post a couple in the comment section...
As you can see from the photos, the area where I was walking is an orange grove!!! The best part of the year to walk in that area is NOW!!! Trees are blooming, the smell of flowers is amazing, and I was lucky to have perfect weather for taking photos... It was windy, but that didn't ruin the photos...
The orange trees are specific as they bloom while they have the "last season's" fruits still hanging on the trees! I never saw anything like that before moving to Spain! What is the most curious, I remember very well when I moved here, and my parents came to visit us for the first time (first year)... It was the beginning of May, I was driving them from the airport, and while we were in the car, on the highway, we could sense the smell of orange tree flowers!!! You don't need an air freshener in the car in those days!
Back to today's walk... It was windy, but for the first time this year, I felt how sun getting into my skin... Summer is coming... As we had a lot more rain this year than we had in the last decade, there was a lot of greenery around! Believe me, that is not a typical image for this part of Spain.... Usually, everything is burned by the sun, and red!!!
I have even found a lot of flowers on my walking route... Also, on the images, you will spot my favorite tree, which gave me shade whenever I would take a photo! Before oranges, this area was famous for cultivating olives, medlar, and almonds... But the carob tree was one of the favorites! I suppose it didn't ask for a lot of "maintenance" and it is a very resistant tree... As Spain was a poor country, people would use the carob tree fruits for preparing "chocolate", coffee-like drinks, cakes, but also bread...

As my walk took place from one town to another, when I reached "civilization" the strong scent of orange flowers disappeared... But, the sea view in the back of the photo was another reward for a long walk...

The first "living creature" in the town was this cute cat... I called her to take a photo...

That's all for now... Gotta continue my walk and see that deep blue sea... I hope I will take some cool photos, so stay tuned in the comment section...
Thank you for your time,
