I began my lifting career 2 years ago when I was 17- almost 18 with a powerlifting style of training from the beginning. Now I am 19- almost 20. I am obsessed with seeing the progress and improvement. right now my numbers are a 405lb x3 squat 290lb bench press and 475lb deadlift at 175lbs bodyweight. It has been a fun journey so far grinding through heavy weight sets but also realizing the lighter weight is important too so the body stays healthy. Powerlifting is a great way to be able to track your progress and analyze what you need to do to fix weakpoints. If you smoke a weight that was hard before you know you made progress. If your deadlift is slow off the floor then you know you need to do more deficit deadlifts. If your squat is weak out of the hole then do pause squats. If your lockout is slow on bench then do more close grip / tricep work. Powerlifting is easy to track because you receive feedback from YOUR body and no one knows it better than yourself.
