Rush hour.

Tola was from a wealthy home, and she could get anything she set her sights on, or so she thought.
Tolani Lydia Banks was a popular celebrity. She was known for testing out products and dazzle the world with her expensive things. No matter how much she tried to resist spending too much, she just couldn't help it.
She woke up on a monday morning after having her beauty sleep and screamed, "Oh, my God! I need this bag."
"What's wrong, Tola?" mum said, as she rushed into her room after hearing her scream.
"Nothing, Mum. I just got excited, that's all."
"You're already throwing tantrums this early," Mum said worriedly. "I'm sorry, ma. I'm fine, it won't happen again," Tola said as Mum left afterwards.
Now, Tola had stumbled on a brown Hermes bag on the internet. She was immediately intoxicated and wanted to get the bag by all means and fast, as it had limited numbers.
She could just ask her parents, but, things weren't as easy as it seemed.
Recently, Tola had asked her parents to buy her a trending Louise Vuitton collection of bags, to which they later acquiesced. That cost them about 5 million dollars, and the last thing they needed was another demand from their unreasonable daughter. Although Tola's parents were wealthy, they were also cautious and mindful of how they spent money. They already felt annoyed that they had to succumb to Tola's demand in the past and had resolved never to spend lavishly like that again.
Tola ran to the living room with these thoughts in her head and devised a plan.
"Hey, Dad! Here's your breakfast made with extra love for the best dad in the world," she said cunningly.
"What do you want, Tola?" Dad said bluntly.
"Chill out, dad. Can't your favourite daughter appreciate her favourite dad?"
"You and I know that has never happened, Tola," he said with a smirk.
"Fine. Uhm..there's this bag I really like."
"And how much is it?" Dad said curiously.
"It's just 2 million dollars."
And to her surprise, Dad reached into his briefcase and wrote her a cheque for 2 million dollars!
"That was way too easy," she thought.
She thanked him and rushed out of his room with excitement and confusion. "Isn't this the same person that said he won't spend "lavishly" anymore? What changed?" She couldn't help those thoughts but was happy she got what she wanted. Now, all that was left was to go withdraw the money and get her bag.
She spent the rest of her day rolling in her bed sheets, thinking about the bag. She had planned to go to the bank the next morning but could not help herself as she eventually decided to go to the bank that night.
It was already around 10pm and she decided to book a cab to the bank. She got to the bank, withdrew the money, and looked for a cab to take her back home quickly, as it was getting later. She had withdrawn over 2 million dollars as she wanted to shop for other things, too.
Finally, a cab arrived. She boarded the cab and sat, in the front seat. Oblivious to what was happening, she put the briefcase containing the cash in the back seat. As she was about to step down, she was pulled back by the driver.
"What's in the briefcase, Miss?" He said with a gun pointed at her.
"Uhm..please, don't shoot me and don't take my money," she said naively.
"Why don't you shut up and come down and act as if nothing happened. If you move an inch or touch that briefcase, I'll blow your brains off," said the driver.
She gently came down from the car and it zoomed off.
She was shocked, in disbelief. "How did this happen? Why did this happen?", she thought.
She trekked home, thinking about what just happened, went straight into her room, and crashed face down on the bed.
"No, no, no!!! This can't possibly be happening to me. I worked so hard to get this money and now, this? How do I buy that bag now?" she said, grumbling.
"Maybe I should tell Dad. No, I can't. Mum? She'd kill me. I guess I'll have to figure this out myself".
She started searching all over the Internet for an online job that could help her raise some money but to no avail. She even applied for in-person jobs and failed the interviews on countless occasions.
"Getting jobs is so hard, these days. I've practically tried everything.
Who knew making money could be this difficult?"
It had finally dawned on her that money wasn't easy to come by and she regretted spending lavishly.
She made a personal resolve that even if she did get the money to buy the bag, she would exercise restraint and not buy it.
She would constantly struggle with her emotions telling her to look for other ways to get that bag, but she held a firm resolve.
The following morning, she went shopping with her Mum and she stumbled upon that very bag. It was just on the market for two more hours.
"Why do you keep looking at that bag? Don't tell me you want another bag?," Mum said.
"Nope, I'm good," Tola replied.
After buying everything she wanted, Tola's Mum asked Tola to pick anything she wanted, but Tola rejected the offer as she felt she had enough things already.
At the end of the day, the bag had been sold out and Tola was left feeling proud of herself for resisting the urge to buy the bag, and also sad for missing out on the bag.
