I have a lot of catchphrases that have played a very serious role in moulding me into the man I am today. Amongst all the catchphrases, my favourite is “a good wine needs no bush”. This phrase came to me at a point in my life where I was faced with challenges, fear, low self-esteem, etc. I could clearly remember having a conversation with my uncle and he mentioned this phrase and told me to go and find the meaning and get back to him. I made my research and discovered a great load of truth from that phrase.
The phrase “a good wine needs no bush” means that quality speaks for itself, where there is value one doesn’t need to announce his/her self. when people are able to see value in you they by themselves get to tell others about you. The idea of building myself was not new to me but this phrase hit me different it began to open my eyes to see where I made a lot of mistakes. I started to understand why I needed not to be looking for unnecessary validation in my studies, work and character. I understood that my consistency in building an excellent version of me will eventually market me out to the world.
It's so funny when I look back and remember those times, especially in my music career, when my effort went unnoticed; they acted like I was not existing at all. All the roles were given to others to take; it remained small I would have asked if I was a ghost. I was almost explaining myself to the same people who didn’t consider me relevant. I am grateful to God that I didn’t give up; instead, I used the opportunity to be focused and grow, not to prove anybody wrong but to make myself better.

I have also applied this knowledge in the kind of services I render to my customer knowing fully well that the quality of my service will be what motivate them to refer me to their friends and families.
According to my findings online, this phrase originated from ancient England, where tavern owners used to hang an ivy bush outside their shops to show that wine was sold there. In those days the average quality needed to hang an ivy bush to attract customers but the good wine sellers, however didn’t need any advertisement because people will naturally come for It.
This catchphrase teaches patience, self-belief and confidence. It gives me this consciousness that true value does not need announcement-it reveals itself in time
Thank you, I invite @ife-love,@diadem16 and @hively to come and join this initiative.
