All is Fair

There will always be something in the way
Always another obstacle for us to overcome
Mountain to climb, malicious enemies to fight & evade
Always another hurricane around the way, seasons of famine
storms to be weathered, militant waged wars & rebellions
Love will always be a conquest, mapped on a battlefield
Some conflicts will result in loss on this crusade, but hopefully
Just maybe true love can be conquered, and this war triumphed
As we defy the odds of our hearts being massacred,
victim to this battle royals’ onslaught, but if misfortune is destined,
defeat inevitably in our futures forefront and I lose you
to these wicked love games of rush and roulette, ambushed by cupids archants
If I become a casualty of warfare, never making it back home again
Lost in the front-lines of heartaches Armageddon
And you find reassurance, safety in another soldier’s arms
Consenting to the absence of my well-being, the fading of my existence
Placing my memoir in a casket, forever to be buried
You should know my love, thoughts of your essence crossed my membrane
As my bleeding heart faded, giving me solace as I arrived at the gates of the fallen
And no ones to blame for the scars,
wounds and casualties in the acts of love and war
For all is fair, all is forgiven
