It's a gradual process, they said. It's a journey. I remember mentioning to you guys that I'll be dropping updates on my sketch improvement journey. It's me again, here and alive. Although, the itch to draw might not be there anymore but it's still underneath all the skin, I'm sure. Well,I just want to say it's been a lot. I knew it wasn't going to be easy but this isn't even about the art part. Not in any way. But we...my friends,we aren't going towards that story. We are talking about the random things I'd draw on any book I see. One of things or would I say habit I've developed over these few months is randomly sketch or doodling at the back of any book, this doesn't exclude my school books. Trust me,they get the brunt of it all cause I'm always forced to be with them, hehe.
Anyways, I watched some videos on YouTube. Well, that's past tense, let's correct that.. I've been watching some YouTube videos and then there's this art book I've been using, studying. Morpho Anatomy for Artists by Michel Lauricella. And I'd like to say it's really good. It's divided into different volumes though. There's anatomy for hands and feet, anatomy for muscled bodies, anatomy for bone and skeleton structure and the list just goes on. I'd like to compliment what it entails and the author. It's a really good book although it tends to confuse me sometimes and then I'd have to ask an AI or go to YouTube and see what's up! I am planning on also getting or I'd like to say attending a class on it on Udemy. Maybe later in the year, during the session break,I'd have many more time on my hands then.
There's so much honesty in the quote,"Practice makes perfect". I mean some portrait drawings has just been so easy for me. Normally, this stuff would leave me stranded, leave me in pain and in tears but hey, I'm jumping known obstacles and passing targets. I'd like to call that progress. Although,I fear I might currently be in an art block or something,I don't know. I haven't really picked a pencil to draw since the year began asides drawing building plans and front elevations which I very well do not enjoy,(let's not trigger me complaining even,I wouldn't want to hear myself too). All I've been doing is doodling in textbooks, jotters and diaries or watching people draw on Instagram. Yeah, mostly Instagram. What I've been watching on YouTube are some lessons concerning the course I'm studying in the university. Heartbreaking. Anyways, I'm pretty sure and hope(let's put more emphasis on 'hope' please) I'd be able to make up for the lost time considering drawing sometime this year. Hopefully, I'd be out of this art block before I resume again for the second semester and get one or two sketches in my sketchbook. I genuinely hope this happens. It's been a busy year guys. It's been a busy year.
Some doodles, don't snicker so much;)
Now,the question remains,"Do I have any art in particular I'm working on?" I think I do or I'd like to say I do. I'll reveal it sometime to you guys. It's still in the process and I'm still shy about it.
And then there's this drawing:

I really tried to make it seem like he was trying to peer his eyes up as his head was in the downward direction,if that makes any sense. I hope it does. Anyways,I didn't get that right. I didn't at all.
Practice they say. Practice.
