I literally just finished seeing this and i am close to tears. Few weeks earlier, I decided to embark on a romcom journey with my friend. It all started with My fault London(I'll write a review about it after this) and that's when it all went downhill but in a good way that is.
This almost two hours movie should definitely be the best romcom I have seen this year. At first I thought it'd get me all slugged up and tired and I'd eventually have to pause it to watch something else; this was exactly how Call me by your name made me feel. But it was something more, something better. It held me by my ear and made me see, showed me.I should've said peered my eyes open, but you understand what I'm saying, I hope. Oh my,the tears are coming-the pandemonium.
Oh well, here we go. The movie, "Me before you" revolves around Louisa Clark, a young 26 years old woman who stays in a town with her family.
SourceShe's in search of a job after being recently dropped from the cafe shop she worked in for 6 years. It's a desperate search. She eventually finds a job offer as a caretaker to an injured man, Will Taylor. Will Taylor is a very wealthy man(
should be in his late 20s thereabout). Unfortunately for him,he got hit by a motorbike trying to cross a road, leading to his whole body being paralyzed...asides his neck up though. A very gruesome fate that would indeed make anyone suicidal, depressed and sad. Especially if one had the life Will did.
SourceIt's a simple story. She becomes his caretaker. He's a bitch to her at first. With the incredibly big heart she has and the sole fact she needed the money for her family, she stays. She works. She cares. They eventually get along.
All was well till she mistakenly stumbled into a conversation his parents were having. And it revolved around the concept of him ending his life. Not his parents though. Will himself did not wish to live like that. His mother begged and he eventually gave them an ultimatum. Six months, they had six months to change his mind and probably savour him whilst he was still around.
SourceLouissa was horrified and decided to take it upon herself to change his mind about the world. Eventually, they fell in love and it all went downhill from there.
It's a great movie. I'm bawling just typing this(Actually I'm not, but you get...kind of like internal pain kind of thing)
Anyways, I hope you see it. And remember, never judge a book by it's cover... Watch the first few minutes first.
Thanks for reading.
