Today I was due for my long run and I hit the road early as the Sun was still rising. I quickly noted the humid and hotter than usual morning which had me concerned. I was focused on my Zone 2 hear rate so took it easy for the first half. I was feeling good about my pace but got uncomfortable with the humidity as the sweat was accumulating. I found my myself dropping my pace in the last mile as it was getting to my limits but did not help much as the heart rate remained high.
I got home and took a cold shower but felt the world collapse as the heat was getting to me. I drank some BCAAs which helped pretty quickly but I felt the impact the rest of the day. It was a busy day at work but I was also able to restart some trigger sessions again as I think I am needing them again. However, it was a bad day to get it done given the start with the long run. I fed myself really well to see if that helped but I found myself looking for rest earlier than usual as I was still struggling with energy. Hopefully, tomorrow I get back on the right feeling.
