The end of my daughter Dariana's (primary) school year is getting closer and closer. This last period will be all about graduation, finalizing payments for events, functions, and endless meetings to finalize the organization of upcoming activities.

This Tuesday before going to work, I attended a parent-teacher meeting, just after the national anthem was played at school. Representatives from five (5) additional grades attended this meeting, held in the central courtyard. I'm always keen to attend school meetings, but I was a bit lost with this one.

The main reason for this meeting was to present a proposal from the school principal that will change the third pedagogical moment for students in these groups.

From the moment the meeting began, and the vice principal began to explain everything, the meeting turned into a disaster. There were representatives who don't have much time with children at the school, who really don't get on board.

The situation in Venezuela is getting more and more difficult, but we all have to solve it as best we can, without looking for someone to blame, because it could make our lives even more miserable.

The fact is that the proposal is to contribute $3 per student to finish roofing the central courtyard. The plan is to buy a tarp.

At first, I wasn't so keen because I knew they would ask for money, but everything this school has achieved has been through self-management, because the national government hasn't even provided enough for a can of paint. The truth is, when I heard the proposal, I thought it was great, because the school project spends much more, and with this collaboration, we won't have to worry about anything else but graduation preparations, or at least the mothers in my daughter's class won't.

This school, despite being a national public school, has remained among the best in the municipality, and it's not because I also studied there, hehe, it's because a strong team has been formed between the principals, teachers, workers, and representatives. We've always thought about the well-being of our children, which is why today all the classrooms have air conditioning, they're also painted, and they have curtains—all of this has been achieved by the representatives.

The meeting resumed when the school principal arrived. He outlined the points, and anyone who disagreed could raise their hand to support the proposal. In the end, everyone agreed.

My daughter is leaving 6th grade this year, and I was tempted to not contribute that money, otherwise it would benefit the school more. However, I studied there, my daughter did too, and my nephew is just in preschool, so it will continue to be a school with wonderful memories.

For all the mothers who attended the meeting, it seemed like a good option; it's a kind of community service that will serve to continue improving the school. These board meetings will also be held with other groups that will collaborate to repair other areas of the school.

For now, we are already collecting the money to buy what is needed for the roof. It was also reported at the meeting that they have the paint, new flower pots, and everything to prepare the central courtyard for the graduation ceremony 🎓. This school has always asked for everything, hehe, but our children hurt us, and we can see what they do with the money they ask for. So we all do what is necessary so that they have a suitable environment for their studies. If we wait for government entities, which is the way we should, the school won't even function 🤔.

Cada vez está más cerca el final de la etapa escolar (primaria) para mi hija Dariana. En éste último periodo todo estará enfocado en la graduación, finiquitar los pagos para los eventos, actos y un sin fin de reuniones para terminar de organizar las actividades que están por venir.

Éste martes antes de ir a mi trabajo, asistí a una reunión de padres y representantes, justo después de la entonación del himno nacional en la escuela. A ésta reunión asistieron representantes de cinco(5) grados más de la escuela, fue en el patio central. Siempre estoy pendiente en asistir a las reuniones escolares, sin embargo estaba un poco perdida con ésta.

El motivo principal de ésta reunión, era plantear una propuesta por parte del directivo de la escuela que cambiará lo que es el tercer momento pedagógico escolar de los estudiantes de estos grupos.

Desde que comenzó la reunión, y la sub directora comenzó a explicar todo, se convirtió ese encuentro en un desastre, habían representantes que no tienen mucho tiempo con niños en el colegio, que realmente no aterrizan🙃.

La situación en Venezuela está cada vez más apretada, sin embargo todos debemos resolver como podemos, sin buscar culpables, porque nos podemos amargar aun más la existencia.

El caso es que la propuesta es aportar por cada estudiante, 3$ para terminar de techar el patio central. Se tiene previsto comprar una loneta.

En principio no estaba tan de acuerdo porque sabía que pedirían dinero, pero todo lo que se ha logrado en ésta escuela, ha sido por autogestión, porque el gobierno nacional no ha dado ni para un pote de pintura. Lo cierto es que al escuchar la propuesta me pareció buenísima, porque con el proyecto escolar se gasta mucho más, y con ésta colaboración no tendremos que ocuparnos en otra cosa, solo en los preparativos de la graduación, o por lo menos las mamás del grupo de mi hija.

Ésta escuela a pesar de ser pública nacional, se ha mantenido entre las mejores del municipio, y no es porque también estudié allí, Jejeje, es porque se ha hecho un equipo fuerte entre el directivo, maestras, obreros y representantes. Siempre hemos pensado en el bienestar de nuestros hijos, incluso por eso hoy todas las aulas tienen aire acondicionado, igualmente están pintadas, tienen cortinas, todo eso lo hemos logrado los representantes.

La reunión retomo su curso cuando llegó el director de la escuela, puso los puntos claros y el que no estuviese de acuerdo que no levantará la mano para apoyar la propuesta, y al final todos estuvieron de acuerdo.

Mi hija sale de 6to grado éste año, y pude pensar en no colaborar con ese dinero, si no se beneficiará más de la escuela, sin embargo yo estudie allí, mi hija también, y mi sobrino apenas está en pre escolar, así que seguirá siendo una casa de estudios con hermosos recuerdos.

Para todas las mamás que fuimos a la reunión nos pareció una buena opción, es una especie de servicio comunitario, que servirá para seguir mejorando la escuela. Estás reuniones del directivo se harán también con otros grupos que colaboraran para reparar otras áreas de la escuela.

Por lo pronto, ya estamos recogiendo el dinero para comprar lo que se necesita para el techado, también se informó en la reunión que se tienen las pinturas, nuevos materos, todo para preparar el patio central para el acto de graduación 🎓. En ésta escuela siempre han pedido para todo, Jejeje, pero nos duelen nuestros hijos, además se ve lo que hacen con el dinero que piden, así que hacemos lo necesario entre todos para que tengan un ambiente adecuado para sus estudios, si esperamos por los entes gubernamentales, que es el deber ser, la escuela ni funcionará 🤔.
