BE CAREFUL

By @musecracker7/4/2017poem

Be careful of what you want;
‘Cause you will get it,
Make sure it’s something
You will want to keep,
Else you will end up
Being the one to weep.

Watch it when your heart,
Desires some other’s hurt;
Spurn the urge to take part
In digging your foe’s grave
Lest you find in the end,
When in need of someone to save,
You foe becomes your savior.

There is a God in heaven,
To whom all on earth will answer;
‘Tis Him and Him alone who knows,
Who dies and who lives.
When man presume to take His place,
He brings ruin mostly to himself.

Be careful, then, my friend
When you want evil to befall on others
-Especially if they have done you no ill-
God will answer your prayer in the manner,
You never thought possible.
The very grave you dug for the other,
Will receive your decaying corpse.
