The Garden Questions
Hello #HiveGarden. Today I participate with the question.
🌳 Do you have a tree in your garden that has a story? Maybe it was planted for a special occasion or has been there for generations. It could even be in your parent's garden, a park or a forest near you.
It is now my garden in the countryside in the Falcon State of Venezuela. This mamon fruit tree is about 50 years old. My mother-in-law allowed this tree to grow in front of the house. Since I saw it in 2003, I fell in love with it because of the exquisite fruit, which by that time was late, the fruit was small and very acidic. There was a lack of water and nutrients.
Due to the bad management of the sheep, the soil suffered a very pronounced deforestation, the soil was very dry, there was no plantation, only a few trees survived as a quiebra hacho, some cactus, uvedas, pitahayas and this mamon in front of the house.
A few days passed between rains and I observed that after the water passed the soil was dry. And the poor mamon tree with its limp branches and sad leaves.
One day in the morning, after breakfast, I looked for some tools and started to make a big furrow, so that the water would start to stay at the foot of the tree. Since it didn't rain, I started to water it twice a day. I also threw the shells of the vegetables I was cooking and the shells of the eggs into the furrow.
And little by little, my husband began to remove the parasitic plants such as the “barbas de juan bejuco”. We also fertilized them with triple 15.

The rains began to fall more often, but we had to return to the city.
Then we returned for the month of July, a school vacation and we were surprised by the tree full of life, it had its fruits about to harvest, it gave us much happiness, my husband and I because with a little love and attention the tree has revived with leafy branches and even fruits. Days later we decided to remove its fruits and make a delicious mamonada (mamon, milk and sugar) also called meroco among the locals, my dad said so.

Friends gardeners true, that it is very satisfying when we take care of the plants on time, even this sucker is standing, every time we go we give it its affection, that is, nickname, worming, watering and fertilizing. It is already more grown and stronger, we love 💖😍that 🌳 mamon tree!
