Hello, friends, how are you doing?
I love meeting new people; I think it's one of the great blessings of this type of photography, going out for a walk and chatting along the way, getting close to people, empathizing with others. Something like that happened to me a few days ago as I was about to arrive for lunch at a café after walking a long way taking photos.
These snapshots 📸 are my submission for the #monomad challenge by @monochromes and @brumest.
A man approached me as I was walking down the avenue by the port and said to me: take pictures of the cranes, that, this, etc., etc.
At first I said: "Wow, this guy won't leave me alone," but then I went along with him.
That's when I understood how many people need to be heard.
And there I was, listening to a stranger as he told me what he thought were the most interesting things to photograph.
In the end, I had a late lunch, but I don't regret it because I was able to take these pictures according to my new friend's vision.
But it does make me rethink a lot of things. Could it be that street photography is making me more sensitive, more empathetic towards others? I think so.

Hola, amigos, ¿cómo les va?
Me encanta conocer personas nuevas; creo que es una de las grandes bendiciones de este tipo de fotografía, salir a caminar y en el trayecto ir conversando, acercarme a la gente, empatizar con los demás. Algo así me sucedió hace unos días mientras me disponía a llegar a almorzar en una cafetería después de haber caminado muchísimo haciendo fotos.
Se me acerca un señor mientras caminaba por la avenida del puerto y me decía: hazle fotos a las grúas, a aquello, lo otro..., etc., etc.
Al principio dije: "Wow, no me suelta el compadre, pero ya después fui siguiéndole la rima.
Allí entendí la necesidad que tienen muchas personas de ser escuchadas.
Y ahí iba yo, haciéndole caso a un desconocido, mientras me decía que era para él lo más interesante que podía fotografiar.
Al final almorcé tarde, pero igual no me arrepiento porque pude tomar estas imágenes según la visión de mi nuevo amigo.
Pero sí me replanteo muchas cosas; ¿será que el hacer fotografía callejera me está haciendo más sensible, más empático con los demás? Yo creo que sí.
