I recently made a career change by necessity when I got laid off from my construction related career in 2009. At 54, another construction position did not seem like a viable option. I always had an interest in computing and now I had the time and motivation to pursue an IT related career. I chose to become a network engineer because a friend at church was an engineer with Cisco and a network admin has too many hats to wear right off the bat, programmers are artists(not me) so becoming a Cisco Network Engineer seemed to suite me. After 2 1/2 great years, I was certified and have been employed for the past five years in that capacity. I only wish I had done it sooner. Due to that forced career change, I depleted my retirement fund and I am starting over and looking for a way to build that passive income that I mention on my website that I have neglected, "Mastermind4Prosperity.com", that will sustain me after I reach retirement whether I choose to retire or not. I want to have options. I am constantly exploring different options. I like helping people and talking, so if I can monetize blogging, that excites me. Crypto currency investing has really caught my interest and I have bought into a few ICO's. I am also very political and opinionated and believe strongly in conservative anarcho-capitalist views. I believe in conservative Judeo-Christian values and free enterprise capitalism. So I may develop several different streams over time. I am still learning the steemit platform.![rodin-the-thinker[1].jpg](https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://steemitimages.com/DQmP8gVrJSCUypuH6bDnBDG46ZYTiqERM1bwarx1Dx8SLLC/rodin-the-thinker%5B1%5D.jpg)
