The potential for this site is absolutely tremendous. It really has a chance, if we apply ourselves and the tool this platform provides, to assist in the redefining of the concepts of labor and currency. I see the pitfalls clearly in this system, unfortunately don't see much in the way of augmenting it to be any more equitable. The market of opinions is very much so alive and well here on Steemit. People are giving their voice freely and receiving a certain 'wealth' in return. It could be the start of a wonderful way of combining currency creation with a slew of fields. All thanks to the application of attention. Attention really is the base block of this currency. How much attention can you get vs how much attention will translate to being liked by your community? I think this is ingenious and we really should appreciate these birth pains while they are here. It's nice to look down the barrel of history and see the changes that no one saw coming.
