Privacy Vs Blockchain

By @mlcuk1/24/2017security

Hello good people!

Today is still only my first day here on steemit, with probably only a couple of hours of actual use. So still much to learn and understand, and granted I'm not the brightest spark in the engine ;)

But one thing that has dawned upon me is the message in the Beginners Guide, and I quote:

"The Blockchain Remembers So Be Sure Before You Hit Post"

So I think I've understood from Bitcoin the concepts that a Blockchain is deregulated and distributed. So no one body holds or is responsible for the data. Which I see is good for accuracy of financial transactions. That is the limit of my understanding! (not much, eh?).

So when Blockchain is applied to social content, and more specifically personal data, then what happens when a person wishes to delete their data, 'opt out', withdraw consent, etc.

And moreso, how does this fit with the EU's 'Right to be Forgotten' (link)?

Thoughts?
