Fiction and fantasy titles are becoming more and more common, movies like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter popularized the genre in film and TV these last 2 decades; however, sometimes we witness the mutilation of its plot for commercial purposes, as has happened with Game of Thrones or The Witcher, and although we do not know the origin story, we find something that prevents us from continuing to follow it; But, today I come to talk about a series that in my humble opinion has a lot of love and attention to detail, is based on the most recognized saga of Robert Jordan "The Wheel of Time". A story that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where time is [platonic] and repeats itself thanks to the confrontation between "The Dark One" and "The Dragon", two beings that dominate the energy of darkness and light respectively. After their last fight, the world was plunged into misery and the Aes Sedai, a group of women capable of controlling and channeling the energy of the "unique power", have been guarding the world for 3000 years, waiting for the moment when the Dragon is reborn to prevent the Dark One from corrupting it again and to have the prosperity they had in the past. In this series we are going to find elements of fantasy and science fiction that I find original. A series that we will surely be able to watch until the end because it contains many signs that it will stick to history.
James Oliver Rigney, Jr. or better known as [Robert Jordan]( https://en.wikipedia. org/wiki/Robert_Jordan), pseudonym with which the author presented the first volume of the wheel of time "The eye of the world" by the year 1990 and until 2005 published a total of 10 books, but upon learning that he had little time to live, he focused until the last moment in leaving very detailed notes about the end of the story; the work of culminating the saga was left to Brando Sanderson, who due to the extensive that would be the book, decided to separate them into 3 volumes that are not at all short: "the storm" in 2009, "midnight towers" in 2010 and finally "a reunion with the light" in 2013. However, it is known that Jordan had planned an ending in the form of 3 prequels, where the protagonist would return to his hometown after finishing his epic campaign, however this project will be part of his inclusive works.
Regarding the series, if you have seen Legend or Labyrinth you will perceive a touch of these fantasy movies in the costumes of the Trollocs and other fantastic creatures and for the first season the use of CGI was very punctual for the magic effects and for some battles due to the difficulty of getting doubles in full pandemic; and you could not expect less from its director [Uta Briesewitz]( https://www. imdb.com/name/nm0003802/?ref_=tttrv_rvi_nm_t_2) who is a fan of the work; another point that would guarantee its success would be the studio built exclusively for its filming baptized with the name of "Jordan Studios". Everything is love is felt in every episode of the first season. The cast is no slouch, among the principals we have Rosamund Pike as Moraine, a member of the Aes Sedai group , Daniel Henney as al'Lan Mandragoran, the guardian of Moiraine, Josha Stradowski as Rand al'Thor, [Marcus Rutherford]( https://www. imdb.com/name/nm8519744/) as Perrin Aybara, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al'Meara, Barney Harris as Mat Cauthon, Madeleine Madden as Egwene al'Vere, and, [Alvaro Morte] (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Álvaro_Morte) as.
Logain Abbair, who for some reason I confused with Dominic Cooper, this for me is inclusion, here is an interview from the Kinotíco channel, which will give you more details about the experience of the Hispanic about the shooting.
Another point I'd like to talk about is the filming locations. A tour all over Europe, going through countries like Prague, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia and more, the setting of the series has a certain resemblance to The Withcer. About the story I don't like to say much more than the synopsis. The Aes Sedai knew that the Dragon would be reborn and Morain receives the mission to locate it directly from "the mother", the most powerful member and leader of the Aes Sedai. After many years of searching, she managed to track him down to a remote village called Dos Rios, 20 years after he was born. However, unable to identify him properly, she decides to set out on her adventure to the headquarters of the Aes Sedai, The White Tower, with 5 young men she suspected. The things that happen during the journey, show you little by little who the dragon is, but the most intriguing element of all is the way the season ends and how it takes you by surprise, you will want to know more about everything, because the information we are offered is very punctual to recognize the characters and understand the rules in that world.
I will take this opportunity to say that the way the story was told in the series was great. Everything had its moment and reason, the interpretation is outstanding, especially that of Rosamud Pike and Alvaro. I am attracted to the fantasy genre because they remind me of dreams and despite being fables and myths, they have a coherence that the author respects as a kind of universal law, unbreakable rules that convince us of the veracity of the narration, that the author is a witness of the facts and captured them in his own handwriting.
