My goal, as an artist, is a clear, reliable transmission of light and shadow. Perhaps this is the most important and no less difficult task facing artists from time immemorial. And the more realistic, the more convincing the properties of light and shadow will be, the more naturally the depicted object will look regardless of the technique of execution.
