Sunbleached

By @matthewmunseyart9/14/2018writing

Your ghosts are all you got
Chase the hole that you punched through the wall

We are all just
Skeletons underneath it all

Backwoods enough
Plastic patriot

Dying's not tough
Livings what's hard
to do

Sun bleached beetle on the window sill
Reminds me just who we are
And what we'd do to catch a thrill
How'd we ever get so far
Away
From you

So thanks a lot
For the memories I left out to rot

Once you're caught you're caught
No matter your level of disgust
In you

Like an afterthought
Spill your blood and come back to mood

And do you know what
I'm hard pressed to even care at all

Sun bleached beetle on the window sill
Reminds me just who we are
And what we'd do to catch a thrill
How'd we ever get so far
Away
From you

Come for the fuck
Leave for the feeling of it all

What the hell is luck
I prefer to think I made it on my own

Nothing I can't huff
Away and just drift to the one

That sits above
My eyes and in the third and I will see
You

Sun bleached beetle on the window sill
Reminds me just who we are
And what we'd do to catch a thrill
How'd we ever get so far
Away.
