The great asteroid "Florence" is imminently approaching Earth
- It will pass near the Earth on September 1 without danger of impact at a speed of 13.53 kilometers per second, according to the Autonomous University of Mexico.
- Florence is a "potentially dangerous" asteroid because of its large dimensions and its approach distance.

This Friday will touch the surface of the asteroid Florence, named after the founder of modern medicine, Florence Nightingale. It is the largest asteroid ever seen by NASA and is a great opportunity for researchers and scientists to observe and study this type of bodies.
This giant asteroid have between 4 and 9 kilometers in diameter and to touch the earth's orbit at a speed of 13.53 kilometers per second and will pass seven million kilometers away, so there is no danger of it colliding with Earth.

The UNAM researcher also recognized the importance of studying a body like this: "For science it is important to know its spectral properties (spectrum of light and colors); We can establish how much it measures and how its structure is. "
The asteroid Florence was discovered by astronomer Schelte "Bobby" at the Siding Spring Observatory in Australia in 1981 and may be visible to telescopes by passing through the constellations of Capricornus, Aquarius or Pisces.
