Hello Steemit Community! I am Maric Jane Carpina Bernabe but you can call me Jane. I am 18 yrs old and a student-athlete/writer/heavy-eater studying at Laguna State Polytechnic University-Los Baños Campus. I am a third year college student taking up Bachelor in Secondary Education- Major in English. I am second from the four children of Ricky and Marytess Bernabe. I am the Features Editor of our school publication, Bay Breeze Group of Publications. 
Here are some of my fellow writers and staffers together with our two advisers. This photo was taken at Batis Aramin, Lucban Quezon during our Regional Higher Education Press Conference last January 16-18 where we bagged many awards in our group and individual competitions.
Through hardwork and continuous training, I won the 9th place for Feature Writing English and 7th place in Developmental Communication Writing Filipino. All of our sacrifices were paid off by these recognitions.
Aside from writing, I am also a student-athlete as I've mentioned earlier. I am a part of the Softball Varsity Team in my school. I am the pitcher of the team but sometimes, I also play the position of first-base, second-base and left field. Our team joins the annual Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges ( STRASUC) Olympics where the different State Universities and Colleges from Region 4 is participating. 
My eldest sister is Maryric Joy Bernabe, a student-athlete in University of the Philippines Diliman. She plays softball and is currently playing in the prestigious University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Here she is in her jogging attire.
Since I'm the second child, next to me are my twin brothers, Marky John and Macky Jay, 7 years old and are studying at an elemenary school here in our barangay.
I am studying hard and doing everything I can to give all the needs of my brothers and parents.
My father and mother are both former members of the Philippine Baseball and Softball Team respectively.
Now, my father is working as a sports official, an umpire to be exact. He officiates every saturday and sunday. He doesn't have a stable job, when it rains, there are no games since he is umpiring baseball and softball games. Because of this, I am really working hard to achieve my dream and give my family a better life!
