Hola, Queridos Hivers!
Hoy les traigo un storytime sobre cómo mis padres y yo improvisamos un lindo nacimiento para la navidad pasada.
Poco a poco, gracias a algunos amigos, desde el año 2024 hemos podido decorar nuestro hogar caraqueño con los típicos adornos navideños, como el arbolito y las bolas que este lleva. También el año pasado nos regalaron unos gorros de navidad, que después de usar los colocamos estratégicamente para que adornaran la sala.
Mi papá también se tomó el trabajo de comprarnos a mi mamá y a mi un hermoso mini nacimiento tallado.
Sin embargo, este año al confirmarse que no iríamos a Cumaná a recibir la navidad, supe que extrañaría mucho la tradición de poner al niño Jesús en el nacimiento a las 12, así que después de ver muchas ideas en pinterest, me puse manos a la obra a hacer un nacimiento a mano!
Busqué mi cuaderno de construcción, que trae cartulinas de varios los colores, y empecé a dibujar las partes que correspondían en cada color de cartulina. El traje de María en la Rosada, su velo y el traje de José en la azúl, etc.
Empecé con la ropa para poder guiarme por el tamaño para hacer las demás partes.
Las caras las hice en hojas blancas porque no había cartulina beige, y así fue mejor porque les pude hacer algunos detalles, como el color de las mejillas en el caso de María, y la barba en el caso de José.
Al terminar con los padres, hice al niño y le encargué a mi papá hacer la mula y el buey mientras yo hacía las ovejas (que quedaron muy graciosas, por cierto).
Quedé impresionada con el trabajo de mi papá!
Planeábamos poner el nacimiento en un envase de vidrio, pero por el tamaño preferí ponerlo en una cajita.
Busqué una caja de zapatos, la pinté de azul y antes de que se secara la pintura, le echaba polvo de hadas, de esa manera el brillo quedaría pegado en la pintura, y así fue. El resultado me gustó mucho.
Con una mezcla de azul y amarillo pinte la parte inferior de la caja verde para simular la grama y ya! Le pegamos cartulina marrón alrededor para simular la entrada al pesebre y estaba listo!
Con pedacitos de cartón pegado en la parte de atrás de los muñecos estratégicamente, para que al pegarlos quedaran de pie, mi mamá los pegó, le pusimos unas luces, y escondimos hasta el 24.
Quedó muy bonito, y la mejor parte es que lo hicimos en familia y con mucho amor y devoción!

Today I'm bringing you a storytime about how my parents and I improvised a lovely nativity scene for last Christmas.
Little by little, thanks to some friends, since 2024 we've been able to decorate our Caracas home with typical Christmas decorations, like the tree and the baubles. Last year we were also given some Christmas hats, which we strategically placed around the living room after we'd worn them.
My dad also went to the trouble of buying my mom and me a beautiful carved mini nativity scene.
However, this year, when it was confirmed that we wouldn't be going to Cumaná for Christmas, I knew I would really miss the tradition of placing the baby Jesus in the nativity scene at midnight. So, after looking at many ideas on Pinterest, I got to work making a nativity scene by hand!
I looked for my construction paper notebook, which has colored construction paper, and I started drawing the corresponding parts on each color of paper. Mary's dress in the pink box, her veil and Joseph's suit in the blue box, etc.
I started with the clothes so I could use the size as a guide for making the other parts.
I drew the faces on white paper because there wasn't any beige cardstock, and it worked out better because I could add some details, like the color of Mary's cheeks and Joseph's beard.
After finishing the parents, I made the baby Jesus and asked my dad to make the donkey and the ox while I made the sheep (which turned out very cute, by the way).
I was so impressed with my dad's work!
We planned to put the nativity scene in a glass container, but because of the size, I preferred to put it in a small box.
I found a shoebox, painted it blue, and before the paint dried, I sprinkled it with fairy dust so the glitter would stick to the paint, and it did. I really liked the result.
Using a mixture of blue and yellow paint, I painted the bottom of the box green to simulate grass, and that was it! We glued brown cardstock around it to simulate the entrance to the manger, and it was ready!
With small pieces of cardboard strategically glued to the back of the figures so they would stand up when assembled, my mom glued them on. We added some lights and hid them until the 24th.
It turned out beautifully, and the best part is that we made it as a family with lots of love and devotion!
