Lent is the time of the Christian liturgical year for the spiritual preparation for the feast of Easter. It is a period of preparation, purification, reflection and spiritual conversion, which is celebrated in various churches, such as the Catholic, Lutheran, Coptic, Orthodox, Anglican, and some evangelical branches.
Its beginning is marked by Ash Wednesday, preceded by the festivities of Carnival, and its end takes place on Holy Thursday.
This pair of images belonging to my personal archive, correspond to the celebration of Holy Week last year, during which I visited some temples in the central area of the city of Barquisimeto, as part of the activities of those dates.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
La Cuaresma es el tiempo del año litúrgico cristiano destinado a la preparación espiritual de la fiesta de la Pascua. Se trata de un periodo de preparación, purificación, reflexión y conversión espiritual, que se celebra en diversas iglesias, tales como la católica, la luterana, la copta, la ortodoxa, la anglicana, y algunas ramas evangélicas.
Su inicio está marcado por el Miércoles de Ceniza, precedido por los festejos del Carnaval, y su final tiene lugar el Jueves Santo.
Este par de imágenes pertenecientes a mi archivo personal, corresponden a la celebración de la Semana Santa del año pasado, durante el cual recorrí algunos templos del casco central de la ciudad de Barquisimeto, dentro de las actividades propias de esas fechas.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
