This post will be much shorter than usual, but complemented by the quality of the portraits.
This is one of those rare occasions where I can tell you that I'm going to present not one, but two portraits in the truest sense of the word, and they were taken during one of my street photography adventures. None of this was planned, and I feel that gives these photos much more value.
Esta publicacion será bastante mas breve que lo habitual pero a su vez esta complementada por la calidad de los retratos.
Y es que esta es una de esas pocas ocasiones en la que puedo decirles que les voy a presentar no uno si no dos retratos en todo el sentido de la palabra y que ademas fueron tomadas en una de mis aventuras de fotografias callejeras, nada de esto estuvo planeado y siento que eso le da mucho mas valor a estas fotos.
A portrait photograph placed in the right context should be able to tell the story of the subject on its own.
Such is the case with this gentleman who has spent his entire life selling books in the same spot. He's become quite well-known in the city, as everyone comes to him when they need a book.
Una fotografia de retrato ubicada en el contexto correcto debe ser capaz de contar la historia del retratado por si sola.
Como es el caso de este señor que tiene toda una vida vendiendo libros en el mismo sitio, este señor ya se ha hecho bastante conocido en la ciudad pues aqui es donde todo el mundo viene cuando necesita un libro
I spoke with him for a while, and he told me that he's read most of the books in his store. He has knowledge on all sorts of topics and is a very interesting person to talk to!
Hablé con el durante un rato y me dijo que ya habia leido la gran mayoria de libros que tiene en su tienda, asi que el señor posee conocimiento sobre todo tipo de temas y es una persona muy interesante para hablar durante un rato!
I took the following photos later that same day in another part of the city. I did a couple of portraits of a lady sitting at her kiosk selling all sorts of things, from cigarettes and drinks to sweets and household supplies.
Las siguientes fotos las tomé mas tarde ese mismo dia en otra parte de la ciudad, le hice un par de retratos a una señora que estaba sentada en su kiosco vendiendo todo tipo de cosas en su kiosco, desde cigarrillos, bebidas, golosinas hasta viveres para el hogar.
Talking with her, she told me that she's had her kiosk in that spot for over 15 years, and it's been her source of income to survive.
Hablando con la señora me dijo que ella ya tiene mas de 15 años con su kiosco en ese lugar y ha sido su fuente de ingreso para sobrevivir.
I exchanged contact information with both people to send them their photos, and they were both happy with it. I hope you like them as much as we do!
