Hello needle workers!
It's another beautiful day to share with you all what I've made with my hands. A lovely customized outfit with a flared hat. It's been a while since I made this style for anyone, so I was really happy when my customer requested it. Not only is it easy to make, but it's also absolutely beautiful. The only thing that took a bit more time was the hat she wanted to pair with the outfit — but honestly, it was worth every second.
I laid out the fabric and began by cutting the jacket first.
I thought carefully about the best color to pair with the main fabric for the jacket, and no color felt more perfect than black — so I went with it.
After designing the jacket, I moved on to the trousers. I added a pocket for her and completed the stitching.
Next was the hat. The hat was cut in flare style, then I added a rectangular piece for the middle part and a small circle for the top.
I’ve made a hat before — maybe just once — and that was a long time ago. So this was technically my second time making one, and it felt good to realize I hadn’t forgotten how to do it. It didn’t even take long to finish!
Since she said the outfit was for her birthday photoshoot, I wanted to give her the very best. She requested something simple, so I kept it elegant and clean.
After finishing the hat, I ironed everything, packaged the set nicely, and got it ready ahead of the deadline.
When she came to pick it up, she absolutely loved the combination I chose — and the dress fit her perfectly!
The only problem here was that she forgot she had the hat so she chose a hairstyle that didn't require wearing a hat. So she'll probably wear the hat when next she's wearing the cloth without that hairstyle.
It was really fun working on this outfit — after all, this is my passion. It only took me half a day to finish this particular dress and it was worth the time. I love making dresses, and I’m grateful every time someone trusts me with their special moments.
Thanks y'all for reading and I'll see you next time!
