I walked into Forty Love Coffee in Madrid with zero expectations but ended up finding a great surprise. It’s a Salvadoran specialty coffee shop where the idea isn’t just to serve coffee, but to tell a story that blends tennis and tradition.

The first thing that caught my eye was the decor—tennis details and apparel everywhere, but without feeling overdone. It’s more like a nod to the place’s identity. And here’s an interesting fact that the girl who helped us shared: the project is driven by Marcelo Arévalo and his family. He’s the world’s number one in doubles in the ATP ranking, and his brother Rafael, also involved in tennis, is president of the national federation.

I ordered a cappuccino, and it was exactly what I look for when I want a good coffee. Nice foam, smooth texture, and that balance where the coffee flavor isn’t lost in the cream. It wasn’t bland or bitter and was really enjoyable as I walked through Madrid.

I also liked that they sell whole bean coffee, so if you fall in love with a flavor, you can take it home and keep the romance going haha. And to top it off, they had a deal that I thought was pretty good considering European prices—4 euros for a coffee and dessert. I didn’t try it because I only noticed after placing my order. In short: a spot with personality, great coffee, and a clear, unique concept. Plus, it was my first time trying Salvadoran coffee.

Entré a Forty Love Coffee en Madrid con cero expectativas pero encontré un muy buen hallazgo. Es un café de especialidad salvadoreño donde la idea no es solo servir café, sino contar una historia que mezcla tenis + tradición.

Lo primero que me llamó la atención fue la decoración, detalles e indumentaria de tenis por todos lados, sin sentirse recargado, es más bien como un guiño a la identidad del lugar. Y aquí va un dato interesante que nos comentó la chica que nos atendió: el proyecto está impulsado por Marcelo Arévalo y su familia, el número uno del mundo en dobles en el ranking ATP, junto a su hermano Rafael, que también está ligado al tenis como presidente de la federación.

Pedí un cappuccino y fue exactamente lo que busco cuando quiero un buen café. Espuma rica, textura suave, y ese balance donde el sabor del café no se pierde entre la crema. No estaba simple ni amargo y fue muy fácil de disfrutar en mi caminata por Madrid.

También me gustó que venden el café en grano, así que si te enamoras de un sabor puedes llevártelo a casa y seguir el romance jajaja. Y para rematar, tenían una promo que me pareció buena tomando en cuenta los precios europeos, 4 euros por café y un postre, no la probé porque me di cuenta después de que ya había hecho mi pedido. En resumen: un spot con personalidad, buen café, y un concepto claro y diferente. Además, fue mi primera vez probando café salvadoreño ✨
