If there's one thing which I love doing whenever I get the chance to move around my city, it is taking snapshots and capturing the sights and sounds of my city, Aba. Photography has become such a part of my daily life that rarely do a day pass without my capturing a moment through my phone's lens. Call me a shutterbug, and you won't be wrong. Lol.

While out there in the streets, my eyes would always be at alert, darting from one side of the road to the other, scanning for what to capture. Sometimes, I tend to be a bit sneaky so I won't miss capturing
a shot. Hehehe. I'd say that "there's a bit of sneakiness in every photographer." Don't you think?
While some might argue that capturing that perfect shot would entail being observant and patient, waiting for the perfect time, others might say that sneakiness can actually be part of the game, especially when trying to capture candid moments.
Although my city's landscape is lacking in artistry plus vibrant touches of flowers, tree plants and lush greenery spaces, I still find interesting things to capture. At least, the vibrant energy of city life and the constant flow of activity provide endless photographic opportunities.
Away from the city streets, my natural surrounding offers great photography. From the lush greenery spaces to fascinating wildlife, such as birds, grasshoppers, butterflies, lizards and more, every moment is a chance to capture the beauty of nature.
While I'm no expert in photography nor have I attended any photography class before, I can say that I have a knack for capturing memorable moments and scenes in photos, just with my mobile device. More so, I'm always intentional about capturing the essence of any object or individual that attracts my phone's camera lens. Lol. This is because I'm not just taking photos for keepsake, but photos that'll eventually form the stories for my blogs.
I understand that using real-life or original photos on blogs add a personal touch and authenticity to the stories. Also, they bring such stories to life, making them more relatable and engaging for readers. To emphasize, when a post is about farm produce, and the reader sees a photo of fresh okra fruit or pumpkin vegetable from the farm, it helps them connect with the content more easily and on a deeper level.
There are various communities here on Hive that are particular about using own pictures while publishing contents. I appreciate that a lot. Besides the fact that it enhances originality of contents and engagement, it's also a great way of encouraging creators to be better at photography.
The fact remains that mastering the art of photography and capturing quality images can be incredibly beneficial. It can open doors to new creative possibilities which can in turn be a source of income.
Photograph-y is money.
There are many opportunities for creators here on Hive to monetize their art. Communities like Photography Lovers, Liketu, PhotoFeed, Visual Shots, Nature Observers, etc., are there to take advantage of. Even outside Hive, photographers put up their work on stock photo sites like Shutterstock, Pinterest, Canva, etc and earn royalty rewards from them.
Now imagine having your own photographs on these sites and people would now pay to get access to them. Isn't that a good deal?
For me, it is. That's why I'm thinking in the line of building my photo gallery so that one day, I can have them showcased on these popular photo sites and earn rewards too, just like others.
Everyone needs that extra cash to get by.
Thank you for reading.
