I began with a loose digital sketch to capture the cat’s stretching pose and the snug fit of the sock. I wanted the body language to feel fluid and natural, as if she were caught mid-movement. The focus was on making her expression playful yet a little annoyed—like a cat who’s trying to maintain her dignity despite the situation.

Once I was happy with the sketch, I moved on to the lineart. This part was especially fun because I got to define the delicate curves of her face, the softness of her paws, and the folds of the sock. Clean and smooth lines help keep the anime aesthetic polished and expressive.

Then came the base coloring. I chose a palette of warm oranges and pinks to keep the mood light and cozy. Her fur has a soft gradient from cream to a deeper orange, and the sock is a cheerful pink that pops against the wooden floor.

After that, I added highlights to make her eyes and fur shine. A touch of white on the tip of her nose and the reflection in her eyes brings her to life. Even the sock got a slight sheen to hint at its stretchiness.
