Well, that's my first post for the mag. Hopefully it will worth it. I'll tell you some about bukit bowl - a place that recently got destroyed and will take a place in my heart. Their socials: https://www.instagram.com/bukitbowl/
Disclaimer: I wasn't a big part of it, neither skated it every day or something. This spot is just something that I think proper spots should look like.
The place was located in Bali, bukit area. Since 2015 (I believe), or might be earlier. Tom - an Australian guy was the owner of it. He built his own house right infront of the spot.
that's Tom ->
And that's his house ->
Just imagine living in a place with a huge background pool in a sick green area 10 mins from the ocean. Throwing wild parties and having all legends visiting the island skating it. Crazy!

So after a while, it got abandoned coz Tom due to some personal reasons left Bali and the landlord privatized the place. My friend Vova was living near by and checking it out day from time to time. He came up with that crazy idea to clean it up and skate it after a few years. It was full of water, molded, damaged. He managed to buy the pump and drained the whole thing. I don't have the video of the dirty version of the bowl, but Vova is cooking a full video that he filmed during last skate sessions since it got cleaned up.
One day landlord came up to Vova seeing that he cleaned the thing (it's illegal to do such stuff here and work using your hands in Bali). So she warned him in some way, but they managed that he will pay her for entering the bowl. She was offering something like $10 or $20 per person, which is absolutely crazy. But he took the price down to $3.5 coz she didn't really care about it. We were having absolutely amazing times down there. Skateboarding, filming, having beers, BBQ's and doing slashers. Everytime you come to the bowl there's some dead creature inside coz the walls are steep and it's pretty deep, haha.
some dead frogs we collected ->
There's not much more to say about, except this place was full of soul and I'm greateful to Vova for bringing it back to life and showing me it. There's no such bowl in Bali anymore (imo) and it was absolutely best. I've learned fs airs there and did some nice fastplants.
After a 1.5 years of skating it, the owner sold the property and someone decided to destroy it and build a hostel/guesthouse/villa (whatever). She offered the place to one of my friends for $100k which is doable, but a bit crazy. There's no more bukit bowl on this planet and I'm grateful to be able to skate in such place.
Vova is editing a video from it, which I will upload here soon when he finished it. I'll be posting a bit more about island spots so if anybody is coming here will know where to skate.
yezuuuuur!
