Note that TCY is a token introduced by THORChain to address debt from THORFi’s lending and savers programs, and it’s primarily claimable by affected users, but it can also be traded on THORChain’s decentralized exchange (DEX) platforms.
Steps to Buy TCY on THORChain:
Set Up a Compatible Wallet:
You’ll need a wallet that supports THORChain’s native blockchain, as TCY is a native asset on THORChain.
Recommended wallets include:
- THORWallet (mobile/desktop)
- Trust Wallet (mobile, supports THORChain swaps)
- Ledger (with THORChain app installed via Ledger Live)
- Coinbase Wallet or other wallets compatible with THORChain.
Ensure your wallet has a THORChain address (starts with “thor”). If using a hardware wallet like Ledger, install the THORChain app through Ledger Live.

Fund Your Wallet:
To trade for TCY, you’ll need assets supported by THORChain, such as:
- RUNE (THORChain’s native token, often used as a base pair)
- BTC, ETH, LTC, BNB, USDC, or other assets supported by THORChain’s cross-chain pools.
Access a THORChain DEX Interface:
Use a decentralized exchange frontend that supports THORChain swaps such as

Connect your wallet.
Swap for TCY:
- Go to "Swap" tab on top of page
- Select the asset you want to trade (e.g., RUNE, BTC, ETH) and choose TCY as the output asset.
- Select route you prefer
- Swap Tokens
TCY trades primarily in the RUNE/TCY liquidity pool, so swapping RUNE for TCY is the most direct route.
Input the amount you wish to swap, review the fees (including slip-based fees and network gas), and confirm the transaction.
Ensure you have enough RUNE or other assets to cover transaction fees, as THORChain uses a slip-based fee system to mitigate impermanent loss.
Stake or Hold TCY:
After acquiring TCY, you can hold it in your wallet or stake it to earn 10% of THORChain’s protocol revenue, paid daily in RUNE.
To stake, go to
