Hello, how are you? The weather here is cloudy, so I can draw in my room without being cooked, LOL. I feel like I am being art-blocked in digital art, so I am into traditional art lately for this month. So I decided to open my best friend's Pinterest to look for a reference I will use, and this one caught my eye. It is a
sunflower in a vase.
Materials I Used:
Let's Draw!
I use this gray oil pastel to draw the reference. I drew as lightly as possible to make it easier to layer later when I started filling in each reference.
After the line art, I started to layer using this brown oil pastel. I start with the part where the shadows are.
Next, I use this yellow oil pastel to draw the petals of the flower. It looks trash, but just trust the process.
Time to draw the leaves. I used these green shades of oil pastel to draw them. I start drawing the line art of it first.
I use this sky blue to draw the vase.
Next, I start filling the flowers and leaves, and I start filling the vase too.
After that, I started adding more intense shadows, and I started adding the background colors too.
To add some texture, I use this scraping tool from my clay tools to scrape the reference.
Sunflower in Vase Still Life.
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
Please take care of your mental health as well.
I hope you are okay today :))
