A Quick Trip to Gubałówka — Winter Sunset Over the Tatra Mountains
I decided to celebrate the first day of winter in 2024 with a quick trip up Gubałówka. The plan was simple: catch the sunset and watch the last golden light touch the snowy Tatra peaks.
But, as it often happens, I was a little late. Instead of golden hour, I was greeted by the deep blue glow of dusk, with the last traces of daylight fading behind the mountains.
Even so, the view was absolutely worth it. The snow-covered peaks still held a hint of soft pink light, while the warm lights of Zakopane flickered below. That contrast between the cold mountains and the glowing town is always magical — and this time was no exception.
Below are some photos captured after sunset — a slice of winter evening atmosphere in the Tatras.
