Time flies when you're having fun, and our family vacation went by faster than we would have liked. My dad and I make a great travel team, so we made the most of every day, going from place to place and visiting as many spots as we could. Our last vacation outing in Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, Córdoba, ended with a lunch where we had a somewhat sentimental chat, in addition to enjoying a heartfelt meal 😃.
El tiempo vuela cuando uno se divierte, y nuestras vacaciones familiares pasaron más rápido de lo que hubiésemos querido. Mi papá y yo hacemos un buen equipo de viaje juntos, así que aprovechamos todos nuestros días para ir de acá para allá, visitando la mayor cantidad de lugares que pudimos. Nuestro último paseo de vacaciones en Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, Córdoba, concluyó con un almuerzo en el que aprovechamos para tener un charla algo sentimental, además de un abundante plato de comida 😃.
When I'm organizing a trip, I always choose to schedule the return bus or plane for the evening, so that most of the last day can be used for sightseeing. During our time in Santa Rosa, this was certainly the case, and we took advantage of the day to visit Cascada Grande, a place we hadn't yet seen. This final trek was the perfect way to say goodbye to Córdoba, and it deserved to be capped off with a good lunch, in addition to the simple sandwich we ate by the water.
Cuando me toca organizar un paseo, siempre elijo que el bus o avión de regreso esté programado para la noche, de modo que se pueda usar la mayor parte del último día para pasear. En nuestro paso por Santa Rosa, esto por supuesto fue así y aprovechamos el día para ir a visitar la Cascada Grande, un lugar que nos había quedado pendiente de ver. Este último trekking fue perfecto para la despedida de Córdoba, y merecía ser finalizado con un buen almuerzo, además del humilde sandwich que comimos frente al agua.
In the Cascada Grande Nature Reserve area, you can find a rather pleasant restaurant. Being in the middle of the forest, the views are incredible, and contrary to what you might expect, the prices weren't exorbitant. For a main course and dessert, we had to pay 12,000 ARS, about $9, plus 3,000 ARS ($2) for a drink. This price is to be expected in Argentina for this type of service. Despite our historically accelerated inflation in pesos, dollar values remain stable but somewhat high compared to the rest of the world, according to my research. Do you think it's expensive or cheap?
En el área de la Reserva Natural Cascada Grande se puede encontrar un restaurante bastante agradable. Al estar en medio del bosque, sus vistas son increíbles y, al contrario de lo que uno pueda llegar a pensar, los precios no eran tan exorbitantes. Por un plato principal y un postre, tuvimos que pagar 12.000 ARS, algo así como $9, además de 3000 ARS ($2) por una bebida. Este precio es lo esperable en Argentina por un servicio de este tipo. A pesar de nuestra histórica inflación acelerada en pesos, los valores en dólares se mantienen estables pero algo elevados para lo que es el resto del mundo, según lo que investigué. ¿Este precio les parece caro o barato?
In my case, I ordered a large plate of ravioli with sauce, and my dad ordered a pork steak with mashed potatoes. To drink, we both ordered a large lemonade, and for dessert, ice cream and bread pudding. This meal was just what we needed to recharge our energy after several intense days of walking and hiking. We also chatted a lot with my dad about life and some past experiences. These conversations always make me emotional, and I ended up crying, but a big hug from him comforted me.
En mi caso, ordené un gran plato de ravioles con salsa y mi papá un churrasco de cerdo con puré. Para tomar pedimos una limonada grande para ambos, y helado y budín de pan de postre. Este plato fue justo lo que necesitabamos para recargar energía después de varios días intensos de paseos y caminata. También charlamos mucho con mi papá sobre la vida y algunas experiencias pasadas. Estas charlas siempre me ponen emocional y terminé llorando, pero un gran abrazo de su parte me reconfortó.
I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have both my parents healthy and still young enough to share so many things with. In my dad's case, we love these kinds of trips and creating new stories to remember later, in addition to taking tons of photos together everywhere. Our time in Santa Rosa de Calamuchita was memorable, since neither of us had ever been to this city before, and we were able to explore it together. Now we're planning our next vacation together: we don't have a destination yet, but I'm sure that wherever we go, it's going to be amazing ❤️.
Siempre voy a estar agradecida por tener la oportunidad de tener a mis dos padres sanos y todavía jóvenes como para compartir muchas cosas con ellos. En el caso de mi papá, nos encantan este tipo de viajes y tener anécdotas nuevas para recordar después, además de un montón de fotos juntos en todos lados. Nuestro paso por Santa Rosa de Calamuchita fue memorable, ya que ninguno de los dos conocía esta ciudad y pudimos hacerlo juntos. Ahora estamos planeando nuestras próximas vacaciones juntos: todavía no tenemos un destino definido, pero estoy segura que sea donde sea, va a ser increpible ❤️.
