Marksmanship Practise

By @lagnarok5/3/2023splinterlands

Hello Splinters, I'm Lagnarok. Welcome to my Weekly Social Media Challenge section. Today Life Faction and Death Faction decided to hold a small friendly competition between Faction's Ranged-Type monsters to improve their skill, especially in marksmanship skill which often every faction negligence.

Gargoya Devil's Lore

The living stone creatures known as gargoya are an incredibly unique result of battle on the other side of the world with the Chaos Legion. Years ago, a great stone tower was far from the Splinterlands and taller than any of its buildings. It was the former tower of a conquered lord, empty and protected only by the dozens of magnificent gargoyles that adorned its architecture. When the Chaos Legion first approached from the rift in the stars, great glowing meteors fell from the sky. They crushed the tower to rubble, but the gargoyles were left unscathed. Not only that, but they were now alive; still stone, but alive. They took off as a tribe across the sea to find a new home as their world was destroyed behind them.

The battle happened in a Wild Gold League in a ranked match, with battle details "Equalizer," "Going the Distance," and "Odd One Out," with mana caps around 58. At first, I wanted to deploy Life Faction with Ilthain's Counterattack style, but the ruleset Odd One Out made it impossible since I did not have enough Ranged-Type Monsters. Then I decided to choose Death Faction with Mimosa Nightshade as my Summoner.

Battle Preparation & Strategy

Name Lv Ability
Mimosa Nightshade Lv 3 -1 Range, Void, Affliction
War Chaang Lv 3 Retaliate
Gargoya Devil Lv 4 Flying, Close Range, Deathblow
Haunted Spider Lv 6 Poison
Dhampir Stalker Lv 4 True Strike
Soul Strangeler Lv 6 No Ability
Vampire Lv 8 Life Leech, Flying

I used Mimosa Nightshade because it nerfs my opponent's monsters by -1 Range damage. I put War Chaang in the first line because it can attack with Melee and Range types. In contrast, Gargoya Devil at second place just in case War Chaang is eliminated. It will take its place of it, and with Close Range ability Gargoya Devil will have no problem in the front line.

Did my Strategy Work?

My strategy worked perfectly since War Chaang and Devil Gargoya could hold their position till the end. Mimosa -1 Range Nerf made my Opponent's lineup ineffective as before, while mine still dealt full damage to them.

Note: I tried to change my writing style from a long and tedious version to a shorter and more descriptive one. I hope. You can enjoy it.
