There was a time when the evil of the world can not condoned by God and he sent messages to the men of that time to change from their ways. God raised Noah to preach of the rain that would fall then. They did not believe him.
Many things would have prompted their unbelief. Rain might had not fallen before. The enjoyment they were having might had entered their head that they can not separate themselves from it. Hence, their desire to continue notwithstanding what would happened to them.
Eventually, the rain came as prophesied and swept them away. Just seven people were saved. And since that time, God has promised not destroy the world with flood again.
Genesis 9:11 KJV
And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
What happened in my state, Ogun, Nigeria, West Africa some days back was more or less a tsunami.
For about two hours on Friday, it rained and it turned out to be flooding as cars, houses, shops and offices were submerged.
It was a sorrowful day that lives were lost and properties and facilities worth millions of dollar were lost too.
It is my prayer that those ṣe who have lost friends and family should have strength to bear the irreparable loss. Also those who have lost properties,God will provide for them and meet their needs as well. May this evil not repeat itself in our land.
