| Hello, my dear readers. I hope you are having or have had a wonderful day. A few days ago, I posted about how to make fabric yarn from recycled T-shirts, and today I want to show you what I made, one of the many things you can do with that yarn. Since my daughter loves stuffed animals, I wanted to make her a new addition to her stuffed animal collection. I knitted her a penguin. When I was making the fabric yarn, my daughter told me not to throw away the T-shirt, but to give it to someone who needed it, as she had said in her school project presentation, which talked about one of the values that children should learn, namely generosity. | The truth is that I was very surprised that he said that to me, and I'm very happy because that act stuck with him and he wanted to put it to the test with me. In this case, I told him that the T-shirt was no longer presentable enough to be worn, as some parts were stretched and the fabric was quite faded, and I would feel bad giving something away that they probably wouldn't be able to use properly. However, if I make yarn from that T-shirt, I can use the parts that are still good and give it another purpose, as I will show you below. | La verdad es que me sorprendió mucho, que me haya dicho eso y me alegro muchísimo porque se le quedó grabado ese acto y quiso ponerlo a prueba conmigo. Yo le comenté que me enorgullece mucho su forma de pensar en ayudar a los demás, pero si vas a dar a alguien algo, trata de que sea bueno y que lo puedan utilizar. En este caso le comenté que la franela ya no estaba bien presentable como para ser usada, tiene algunas partes estiradas y la tela estaba bastante desteñida y a mí me daría pena dar algo, así que de seguro no lo podrían aprovechar como se debe. Sin embargo, si hago trapillo con esa franela puedo aprovechar las partes que sí sirven y darle otra utilidad como lo que les mostraré a continuación. |

| In this part of the fabric, I will start by adding a different color to make the eyes. There is a way to do this so that the fabric looks good and the join between the two threads doesn't look ugly. When we are at the last stitch before adding the other color, we make the normal single crochet stitch, but before finishing it, we don't close it completely. Instead, we leave the two loops unfinished so that we can add the thread at that point and close the stitch with the other thread. Then knit two stitches with the new yarn and do the same process before finishing. In this case, take the green yarn again and close the stitch. As you can see, it's easy to do and the knitting looks neater. | En esta parte del tejido empezaré agregando un color diferente para hacer los ojos. Hay una manera de hacerlo para que quede bien el tejido y no se vea feo la unión de los dos hilos. | This is where I started laughing to myself while writing all this, because now I realize that I skipped about three rounds with this new color, and I only just noticed it now. When I finished the penguin, I saw that it was a little short, but I didn't really pay attention to it. I told myself that was just the pattern, but it still looks fine. And while writing this part, I realized that I only knitted row 10 and then moved on to row 14. These things happen, but at least the end result turned out well, even though I'm still laughing about it.
