Hello Fellow Steemians!

Once again Well Come back to my Blog…!!

Last time we had discussed Renewable and Non-Renewable Energy Resources, where one of my friend Sumit Kumar Patel have asked me about Nuclear Energy. Whether it is Renewable or Non-Renewable? What are its consequences? Here goes your answer. This also gave me the new topic to discuss. I am thankful for that Sumit Kumar Patel.

First, let us discuss “What is Nuclear Energy?”
Nuclear Energy means the energy which is released during the nuclear fusion or fission, at time of generating energy. This energy process is also done at the time of generating electricity.

Now, whether it is Renewable or Non-Renewable?

Nuclear is Non-Renewable Energy. You all must be thinking, why I am considering it Non-renewable because nuclear energy is Renewable. I consider or most of them consider non-renewable because element used in process are non-renewable.

Let’s discuss in brief.
It would be easy for those who have some knowledge about nuclear energy.
When nuclear fission take place, nuclear energy is released. Nuclear fission is controlled in nuclear power plant to produce electricity. Uranium (U-235) is non-renewable and it’s very rare element used in Nuclear Power plant. This is why nuclear energy is non-renewable.

Its Advantages and Disadvantages.

Advantages.

• Use of nuclear energy to produce electricity helps in reducing the use of fossil fuel, which will reduce emitting of carbon dioxide gas in atmosphere. Fossil fuel (coal) is also non-renewable energy resources so in near future it may extinct. It doesn’t produce same amount on energy (Electricity) as Nuclear Energy produces. This may help fossil fuel resource to not to get extinct soon.
• Another advantage is it produce energy (Electricity) continuous without getting stopped once in year and produce 86% of electricity yearly.
• Weather condition doesn’t affect nuclear power plant.

Disadvantages.

• As nuclear power plant is very complex, and it is very difficult to produce Nuclear Energy.
• Radioactive waste produce from plant are toxic and difficult to decompose them.
• This waste also causes cancer or blood disease.
• Accident in nuclear power plant can also causes explosion in plant and nearby places.
• Mostly it can be object used by terrorist to threaten public which may lead to loss of many lives.
