NFT Showroom partnered with Alien Art Hive for a SKULL ART CHALLENGE. I minted and entered two skull designs so far. According to the challenge post, you can join in by:
  • make art incorporating a skull (or skeleton);
  • mint it on: https://nftshowroom.com;
  • make a blog post about your art and link to your minted piece in Alien Art Hive Community; and
  • use "nftshowroom" in your tags.
According to the challenge post, NFTShowroom will feature all SKULL ART minted on the NFTShowroom home page / twitter, and Alien Art Hive will be curating participants' blog posts. The challenge is ongoing and will continue until the end of March.

Below is my fourth and final Skull Art project:
It's Springtime. Out with the old to make room for the new. Annually, millions of people tackle an undertaking lovingly referred to as "Spring Cleaning. With good intentions, we begin projects meant to lift the dark days of the previous winter season and usher in the beginning of renewal. I have a project offline as well in conjunction with my attempt at a minimalist lifestyle. If only my spouse would open and read the memo!
On Hive, The Alien Art Hive Community is closing out its March Skull Art Challenge. I viewed some awesome art projects for the skull challenge on Hive and NFTShowroom and marveled at the creativity of those working with skulls and skeletons as subjects.
Theme for April is the SPRING CHALLENGE. My final mixed media art project for the Skull Art Challenge is meant to be humorous as I designed a video that symbolizes the epitome of ushering out the old and readying one's self for the new: A skull sweeping accumulated dust from the floor. In the far corner rests its friends.
As the skulls and skeletons are doing, I'm also getting ready for the next NFTShowroom x Alien Art Hive challenge. Stay tuned for my Spring Challenge editions during April.
In this final Skull Art design, I minted it on NFTShowroom.

It was fun creating this project.

Below is my NFTShowroom Minted project:

Name: Spring Cleaning
Date Minted: 3/31/2025
Link: Spring Cleaning
Number Minted: 5
Cost: 5 Hive/each
My approach to the design was to utilize again the stable diffusion program, StarryAI, to retrieve the skeleton sweeping dust from a floor.
StarryAI Text input:
"Full body form skeleton with a broom sweeping dust from a room. Highly detailed, with cobwebs hanging from the skeleton bones."
Style: Vivid Creeps
StarryAI Result:
My next step was to blend the different type images to produce a still version. I utilized Canva, my design program. I began with a blank, white canvas, then added layers of elements, removing backgrounds, resizing, colorizing, and repositioning items as needed. I wanted a vibrant scene, so applied a yellow flower as the background. Enlarged, the flower did provide a burst of color.
Below is the still Canva version with the additional images.

Below are the images I included to resemble other skeletons hidden in a closet.
Final step. Adding animation with a video from Deep Dream Generator created a hilarious scene where the skeleton is sweeping the floor getting ready for Spring. It's been languishing in the dusty room in a closet with other skeletons all winter.
I chose the video model "RUNWAY". This is the best option for a single image to run the iteration. I feel that the text description for the video was exactly what I envisioned. However, I encountered a hiccup when uploading the still version. After numerous attempts, I discovered Deep Dream Generator site was having internal operational problems. Instead, I used the simple video produced.
Deep Dream Generator Text Input:
"Skeleton sweeping dust from room."
Model: Runway
Size: 896 X 720 (0.65 MP)
Aspect ratio: landscape
I returned to Canva to uploaded the video, add the additional images again, then complete the project. I download in the appropriate size to fit PeakD and NFTShowroom requirements. This stage of the design is always more difficult given the size restraints of the final image.
